Here we offer you information on things to do and visit while on holiday in Portugal. These are just some of the main places that you shouldn´t leave Portugal without seeing. The cities that you shouldn´t leave without seeing in this country are many. On the one hand, Lisbon, capital of Portugal since the 12th century is part of the world heritage. Sintra with it´s many castles, colorful and romantic palaces in Quinta da Regalier, Oporto, famous for it´s wineries next to the Duero River, Aveiro known as the portuguese Venice, Chaves for it´s history, the university town of Coimbra, the temple of Diana in Evora, Braga, Viseu, and Faro are amongst other things to do and visit while in Portugal. There is also Madeira, Funchal which is absolutely beautiful. The Azores Islands are also worth seeing. You should definately visit Ponta delgada in the Island of San Miguel, Angrado do Heroismo in Terceira, and last but not least the island of Faial, Huerta. |
